Lammers returns to Le Mans with Hope Racing

If we announced to you a few days ago that Jan Lammers would be entered by Hope Racing during the 1000 km of Spa-Francorchamps this weekend (see here), the Swiss team confirmed that this appearance would not be a one-shot, since the Dutchman will also be there in Sarthe on June 11 and 12. He will therefore support Swiss driver Steve Zacchia and a third person to be designated.

“I am obviously very excited about taking part in my 22nd 24 Hours of Le Mans, declares the native of Zandvoort, who will celebrate his 55th birthday on June 2. My friend Fredy A. Lienhard (editor's note: boss of Lista Office and autobau) put me in contact with Benoît Morand and Hope Racing. The fact that it is a hybrid car particularly appealed to me, it is the opportunity to add experience to my rich CV. Preparing for Le Mans on the superb Spa track makes me even more eager to start working with my new team who, like me, are very motivated.”

Jan Lammers has 21 participations in the 24 Hours of Le Mans including a victory with Jaguar in 1988, a success at the 24 Hours of Daytona 1990, 23 Grand Prix of F1 contested, a title of champion of the Netherlands of Supertourism, two crowns of European champion of Renault 5 Turbo, a coronation in the European championship F3, two titles in FIA Sportscar? In short, a man whose experience will be very valuable for Hope Racing, which will make its debut at Le Mans with a hybrid engine.
