Larbre Competition strengthened and confident before Mexico

Pierre Ragues and Larbre can be satisfied with their first part of the season. The cutting-edge driver the Corvette C7.R n°50, entered in the GTE Am category in WEC, with his teammates Paolo Ruberti and Yutaka Yamagishi, achieved three podiums in four events in 2016.

The objective of a new top 3 therefore seems logical for the French team, especially since both in the Drivers and Teams rankings, Larbre Compétition remains in the running for a final podium at the end of the championship. Pierre Ragues, like Yutaka Yamagishi, is only three points behind the Al Qubaisi – Heinemeier-Hansson duo, currently third in the ranking.

« We know that our package allows us to fight for the podium which will therefore be our main mission and we will take advantage of the collective tests on Thursday to perfect our preparation. » explains the champion ELMS 2013.

On a Mexico City track which will be a great discovery for the majority of drivers and teams, Larbre will also be able to record the return of the American Ricky Taylor, official Corvette driver, and who replaces Paolo Ruberti for the three events in Mexico, United States and Japan.

A luxury joker which is not unknown to the Val de Vienne team, since the son of Wayne Taylor had played in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the structure of Jack Leconte in 2013 and 2014. An arrival which is also accompanied by support from Corvette.

“In addition to providing us with one of its official pilots, Corvette Racing also provides us with the services of Charlie Ping, an experienced engineer whose contribution will help us greatly., comments Jack Leconte. With three podiums in four races, plus a solid performance at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, we are keen to continue our momentum to remain in the top three in the championship. »
