The tree in the big bath of the ILMC

Last year, within a somewhat moribund GT1 category, the Larbre Compétition team allowed the Saleen S7R to end its career in the most beautiful way. LMS and ILMC champion and above all winner at Le Mans, Jack Leconte's team won everything.

This season, the challenge will be completely different. The team based at the Val-de-Vienne circuit has acquired a Corvette C6-ZR1 which it will enter in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup for the trio Patrick Bornhauser / Julien Canal / Gabriele Gardel. And the objectives are high since although entered in GTE-Am, it is neither more nor less than the GTE crown that Jack Leconte's troops are aiming for.

To prepare as best as possible for the 12 Hours of Sebring which will take place on March 19, the entire Larbre Compétition team went to Florida for the ALMS Winter Tests.

“The team came to New Hudson to discover the car which will not return to Europe until May, explains Jack Leconte. Our technicians first began training with engineers from Pratt & Miller, the car's designer, then they prepared all the tools before going to Florida for these first tests. The result is convincing. From the first outing, we placed ourselves within the same second as the two factory cars? »

As for the pilots, nothing to say. Everyone seemed delighted by their first laps at the wheel of this car, as confirmed by 2005 FIA GT champion Gabriele Gardel: “I discovered a well-balanced car from the start of testing. The various adjustments made by Corvette Racing helped us a lot. I think we are going to have a good season. I have been riding with Larbre Competition for 6 years and it?s no surprise that everything works well. »

After winning Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Dodge and Saleen, Jack Leconte and his men want to make the Corvette colors shine. In an extremely competitive category, the challenge is significant.
