As expected and announced by AUTOhebdo, the 9th edition of the world championshipEndurance will not start with the 8 Hours of Portimão on April 4. The postponement of the start of the 2021 season was indeed ratified during the FIA World Motor Sport Council this Friday.
The players will therefore have to wait until May 1 and the 6 Hours of Spa to officially resume competition. Initially the scene of the opening of the season, Portimão was postponed by two months and will welcome the entire grid on June 12 and 13, the dates originally reserved for 24 Hours of Le Mans postponed to August.
Therefore here is the new championship calendar for the World Endurance Championship:
May 1: 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps
June 12-13: 8 Hours of Portimão
July 18: 6 Hours of Monza
August 21-22: 24 Hours of Le Mans
September 26: 6 Hours of Fuji
November 20: 6 Hours of Bahrain
