The development of the DeltaWing in video

Since its first public laps in mid-March at Sebring, the DeltaWing has headed to the old continent to continue its preparation for the double round of the clock in Sarthe (June 16-17). European tests will also begin next week. And to allow the public to follow the evolution of this very original car, small films will be offered every two weeks, until Le Mans, allowing them to see the developments of the project. On the first video, we can see the DeltaWing passing through the wind tunnel. All assembled, they will give birth to a TV documentary.

“The work in the wind tunnel was a key element of the project, underlines Ben Bowlby, initiator and manager of the Deltawing project. The data collected using the development model and computer simulations showed us that we were moving in the right direction. Having the real car in the wind tunnel only reinforced this observation. In fact, the end results really exceeded our expectations.”

On the Nissan side too, satisfaction is in order. But the Japanese giant did not go in blind, and had researched well in advance, wanting to be a partner in a project that held up. “As soon as Nissan?s involvement in the DeltaWing project began, well before it was announced, we wanted to ensure that the challenge of bringing such a revolutionary car to a circuit was met, explains Darren Cox, General Manager of Nissan in Europe. It's an innovative project that could change the face of motorsport, and fans will be able to follow the whole story (thanks to these films. Ed.). Too often, development in motorsport is hidden and kept secret. Nissan wants to make this exciting part of this sport accessible. These films will provide insight into the steep learning curve the team will face between now and 24 Hours of Le Mans ». This is an initiative that will delight fans and which we can only welcome. See you in two weeks, for the continuation of the adventures of the DeltaWing?
