This decision, following the announcement of withdrawal of the mark from the World Endurance Championship Rings at the end of the year, should allow Dieter Gass, director of the department DTM at Audi, to take the head of the sports management managed by Ullrich for 23 years. If the signature has not yet been made, this replacement would have already been planned for several years.

The 66-year-old Austrian will, however, continue to work for Audi for a year as a restructuring advisor. Dr Wolfgang Ullrich's objectives will be to prepare the German manufacturer for his commitment to Formula e for the third season and to protect the jobs of Audi Motorsport staff threatened with the end of the LMP1 program.
