Le Mans – 3h: Audi n°1 takes the lead in the race

André Lotterer managed to maintain his lead at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The No. 1 Audi remains in the lead despite its additional stop. The No. 7 Toyota lost ground following fuel pressure problems.

Le Mans – 3h: Audi n°1 takes the lead in the race

The No. 1 Audi took the lead in the race thanks to the good performances of André Lotterer. Despite the higher consumption of the R18 compared to Toyota, the R18s maintain the advantage over the Japanese LMP1 which is more than a minute behind the race lead. Nicolas lapierre encountered fuel pressure problems on the #7 Toyota, but the Frenchman then attacked to catch up. The Rebellion Racing Lolas maintain the advantage ahead of Strakka Racing.

Oak Racing retains control of LMP2 with Alex Brundle leading the category ahead of the #35 of Rodolfo Gonzalez. Ryan Briscoe completes the top three on the Level 5 Motorsports HPD. The Oreca 03 n°26 Mike conway (G-Drive Racing) moved up to fourth place following a puncture at the start of the race. Pierre Thiriet completes the top five on the Oreca 03 of Thiriet by TDS Racing.

Aston Martin retains control of the GTE Pro with Darren Turner in the lead in the #97 ahead of Rob Bell in the #99. Porsche remains in contact with Romain Dumas in third position in the No. 911 92 RSR followed by Jörg Bergmeister in the sister car. AF Corse places the n°61 and the n°55 at the top of the category.

The 81e edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans was bereaved by the death of Allan Simonsen. The Dane went off the track at the very start of the race.
