Le Mans - Alpine well prepared for Test Day

THEAlpine A450b may not be the best performing LMP2 in the world 24 Hours of Le Mans, but the experience of Signatech and the staff of Philippe Sinault, the team director, will be a significant asset. But with a larger field, it will not be easy to reproduce a good result in Sarthe after the No. 36 took the last step of the podium in the category in 2014.

“With the expected line-up this year, it will be difficult to match our 7th place in the general classification last season”, admits Bernard Ollivier, the director ofAlpine. “The objective is to do at least as well as our podium in the LMP2 category. Although the conditions are a little different this year, we have real structural strengths and great ambitions. Our pilots know very well the 24 Hours of Le Mans and theAlpine A450b. As for the team, it showed its efficiency. The most hardened and motivated will stand out and our team has already proven that it possesses these qualities! »

Nelson Panciatici will once again be aligned with the double Sarthois clock tower in the colors ofAlpine and will thus be able to put his experience to good use. “We will be able to take advantage of the experience we have with theAlpine A450b. This is a real asset when approaching the 24 Hours of Le Mans. We already have our base of settings and a good knowledge of tires. The Test Day will be important to have indications of our position in relation to our rivals. The aerodynamic kit will allow us to gain performance on this very special circuit. For the race, if we are as competitive as last year, we can fight for a podium and perhaps win in LM P2. »

Nelson Panciatici will reunite with Paul-Loup Chatin, while Vincent Capillaire completes the crew in place of Oliver Webb after having been hired last year under the banner of Sébastien Loeb Racing.
