Le Mans – Audi racked up the kilometers

288. This is the number of laps accumulated by the R18 e-tron quattro from Audi Sport during the Test Day of the 24 Hours of Le Mans last Sunday in Sarthe. Or the best cumulative mileage (3925,152 km) entre les quatre grandes écuries (Audi, Porsche, Toyota et Nissan) présentes en LM P1. “The fact that we have not had any interruptions is very positive, notes Chris Reinke, LMP manager. All our drivers were able to spend a lot of time on the track, and familiarize themselves with the track in different conditions. »

Placed in 5th position at 1″495 on the No. 7 Audi, Benoît Tréluyer, three-time winner of the event and defending champion in the Sarthe, noted the improvements in his car without stopping at the time. “Our time is bad because the track is bad, but the 2015 car is much more stable than last year's. We are never at the limit, we feel more comfortable. The R18 is better in corners and reacceleration in particular? In short, everywhere. »
