Nakajima's 1'40" lead at the start of the tenth hour turned into 2'15" at the end. The gaps evolve quite weakly at the top of the general classification where Alexander Wurz, on track in the Toyota No. 7 always dominates its subject. The No. 2 Audi of André Lotterer and No. 1 of Tom Kristensen remain firmly in place on the last two steps of the podium.
In LM P2, we have just learned of the penalty for speeding in the pits of the #46 Thiriet by TDS Racing Ligier. 35″ of stop&go which allowed theAlpine A450 to regain second place behind the perennial leaders of G-Drive by Oak Racing currently led by Alex Brundle on the No. 35.
In GTE Pro, Stefan Mücke maintains control of the race with his Aston Martin n°97 in front of the Ferrari of Toni Vilander (AF Corse n°51) and the Corvette n°74 separated by only a few lengths. Note the very long stoppage of the Porsche No. 91 which had already stopped previously to change its brakes.
Finally in GTE Am, the leading #98 Aston Martin was forced to stop after smoke was seen in the engine compartment. The Englishwoman has still not left. It was the sister car, the 95, which took over at the head of the category.
