After 12 hours of racing 24 Hours of Le Mans (Sarthe), no problem for Toyota. The Japanese brand is leading the LM P1 with the No. 7 of Mike conway, Jose Maria Lopez and Kamui Kobayashi in front of n°8, Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley, Kazuki Nakajima.
The No. 8 lost a lap due to a puncture at the start of the evening and a change of brake duct on the right front. On the Rebellion side, the Swiss only had an illusion for an hour before falling into line, more than two laps behind. The ByKolles retired due to an accident (front wing breakage) for the seventh time in a row.
In LM P2, various mechanical failures knocked out favorites like Racing Team Nederland, G-Drive Racing, Signatech Alpine from the first hours. This benefits the duo of Oreca 07s from United Autosports (#32 ahead of #22) which leads the way ahead of Jota (#38).
The GTE Pro is the scene of a duel between Aston Martin et Ferrari. The Prancing Horse, however, lost one element, No. 71 due to a mechanical problem shortly before 2 a.m. The sister car, the outgoing winner at Le Mans (No. 51), holds the lead over the two official Vantages.
Porsche has already given up on its chances of success. The 911 RSR, disadvantaged by the Balance of Performance, has never played at the forefront. The #91 is 5th, the #92 is 8th after a steering failure.
Finally, Aston Martin is currently taking its revenge in GTE Am with the official No. 98 ahead of the No. 90 from the British team TF Sport.
