Porsche maintains control at the end of the 17th hour of racing at Le Mans. The 919 Hybrid of Neel Jani is 11 laps ahead of the No. 07 Oreca 38 of Jackie Chan DC Racing driven by Thomas Laurent, which is almost a lap ahead of the No. 13 Vaillante Rebellion of Nelson Piquet Jr. The n °31 by Bruno Senna still completes the provisional podium.
The Stuttgart manufacturer can nevertheless hope to score a double, the No. 919 2 Hybrid of Earl Bamber having moved up to 10th place five laps behind the leading LMP2.
Porsche is moving back into GTE Pro with the No. 911 91 RSR of Frédéric Makowiecki who has just replaced Patrick Pilet. The German brand notably benefited from the prolonged shutdown of Ferrari n°51 of James Calado which was returned to the garage to change the front hood which was damaged.

The category is led byAston Martin No. 95 of Richie Stanaway which precedes the No. 63 Corvette of Jordan Taylor and the second Vantage of Jonathan Adam. The JMW Motorsport Ferrari driven by Dries Vanthoor remains at the top of the GTE Am.
