Le Mans – H+19: Aston Martin resists in GTE Pro

Darren Turner's #97 Aston Martin holds off at the top of the GTE Pro at Le Mans against Corvette, Ford and Porsche. Nick Tandy's 919 Hybrid n°1 continues its parade.

Le Mans – H+19: Aston Martin resists in GTE Pro

La Porsche n°1 of Nick Tandy remains quietly at the head of the general classification in the 19th hour of the race at Le Mans. Earl Bamber's No. 2 sister car moved up to 8th place, 17 laps behind the leader, while the Toyota #8 by Anthony Davidson is in 13th place, 27 laps behind the leading car.

The No. 07 Jackie Chan DC Racing Oreca 38 driven by Oliver Jarvis remains in the lead of LMP2 in second place in the general classification, ahead of the No. 13 Vaillante Rebellion of David Heinemeier-Hansson by almost a lap. Sister car No. 31 has been stuck in the garage for an hour due to the gearbox.

THEAlpine #35 of Nelson Panciatici completes the provisional LMP2 podium ahead of the #37 of Jackie Chan DC Racing driven by Tristan Gommendy. United Autosports ranks 5th with the Ligier JS P217 driven by Will Owen.

The fight for the leading position in GTE Pro continues to rage. Aston Martin keeps control with the #97 Vantage of Darren Turner which is only a few seconds ahead of the #63 Corvette now entrusted to Antonio Garcia. Richard Lietz took over in the #91 Porsche which is around 14s behind the category leader. There Ferrari of JMW continues its parade at the head of GTE Am with Rob Smith at the wheel.
