Le Mans – H23: Audi heading for a double

Benoît Tréluyer retains the head of 24 Hours of Le Mans on the #2 Audi which has a two lap lead over Tom Kristensen's #1 sister car. The Ingolstadt manufacturer seems very well on its way to achieving a 13th victory in the Sarthe after the abandonment of the Porsche, the No. 14 having also returned to the pits. The misfortunes of Stuttgart benefit the Toyota n°8 led by Anthony Davidson who finds himself in third position. Rebellion Racing should manage to secure fourth place with the No. 12 R-One driven by Nicolas Cheers.

The fight remains undecided in LMP2 between the Zytek of Jota Sport of Oliver Turvey and the Ligier of Thiriet by TDS Racing led by Tristan Gommendy. Alpine retains third place, with Nelson Panciatici two minutes behind the category lead. The G-Drive Racing Ligier of Mark Shulzhitskiy is in fourth position after being slowed down in the final hours by mechanical problems. Sébastien's Oreca 03R Loeb Racing completes the top five with René Rast at the wheel.

Victory in GTE Pro is also looming for AF Corse which keeps the lead in the category with the Ferrari n°51 by Giancarlo Fischella. Antonio Garcia took the lead over the No. 92 Porsche of Frédéric Makowiecki after a superb stint by the driver of the No. 73 Corvette. Aston Martin had to console themselves in GTE Am with the Vantage of Kristian Poulsen which was in the lead ahead of the No. 88 Proton Competition Porsche of Klaus Bachler, but the No. 95 has just returned to the garage...
