Le Mans – Jacques Nicolet: The Ligier JS P2 “was well born”

After Alpine last year, another renowned French brand is preparing to make its return in Endurance and 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 14-15), in this case Ligier. The JS P2, made by the Sarthe manufacturer Onroak Automotive managed by Jacques Nicolet, made its first track debut last Friday at Le Mans, on the Bugatti circuit. An event that AUTOhebdo attended. A first run which went perfectly well according to Jacques Nicolet, who admitted to being “happy and impressed with the quality of the work accomplished by all the Onroak Automotive teams. The Ligier JS P2 was able to complete around sixty laps without experiencing any problems. It is a real satisfaction which will allow us to devote ourselves to the development with complete peace of mind. Obviously, the car is well born and that is the main thing for the moment. »

And the 23-year-old Briton Alex Brundle, requisitioned for the occasion, continued: “We did a lot of series of laps and we only had minor problems. Of course there are things to refine and adjust, but overall the car is very good. »

As a reminder, the Ligier JS P2 will make its first public appearance on June 1, during the test day of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In addition to the models fielded by Oak Racing Team Asia and Thiriet by TDS Racing, the Morgan sporting the No. 35 or the one with the No. 26 should also become JS P2.
