Le Mans – Krohn Racing moves into LM P2 with Ligier

Based in Texas, Krohn Racing had to take part in the 6 Hours of the Circuit of the Americas, fourth round of the World Championship.Endurance 2014. The American team also took the opportunity to announce its intentions for the coming season. A regular competitor in GTE Am, the decision was made to move to LM P2 in a championship yet to be defined. “It depends on schedules and my professional obligations, said boss Tracy Krohn. But the goal is to start the season by taking part in the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring then to line up at the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans."

Regarding the engine, Judd was chosen. This is the first time that the Ligier JS P2 will be powered by the British V6, which has until now been seen on the track with Nissan and HPD (Honda Performance Development) units. “Nic and I had the chance to get behind the wheel of this Ligier JS P2 (during tests conducted at Magny-Cours shortly after Le Mans. Editor’s note) and we really enjoyed it, continues Tracy Krohn. The ergonomics suit me well, which has always been a difficulty for me because of my large size. We had the opportunity to enter into a partnership with Judd as an engine manufacturer and I think the Ligier JS P2-Judd association will be great. Although the move to LM P2 will be a big step and transition for us, I am confident. »

And Jacques Nicolet, the boss of Onroak Automotive, continues: “This is the first Ligier JS P2 that we are selling in the USA and I have a lot of hope in this collaboration. We will do everything possible to ensure that Krohn Racing is fully satisfied with its Onroak Automotive sports prototype. »

Longtime teammate of Tracy Krohn, Swede Nic Jönsson will be there again. If new tests will be carried out at the end of the month with the Ligier JS P2-HPD that Oak Racing now fields in the United Sportscar Championship, the American team should receive its final package during the month of November.
