Le Mans – The #18 Porsche in the lead at midday

La Porsche No. 18 is at the top of the time sheet at midday of Test Day 24 Hours of Le Mans with a time of 3'21"945 achieved by Neel Jani who beat by one second the reference established last year in these tests. Audi completes the top three, the No. 18 R9 e-tron quattro from Albuquerque-Rast-Bonanomi being the closest with 3 tenths behind, preceding the No. 7 from Tréluyer-Fässler-Lotterer.

The Toyota are behind since the TS040 Hybrid are beyond 6th place. Kazuki Nakajima took the wheel of the No. 1 straight away. The Japanese cars are ahead of the first Rebellion, the No. 12 R-One Cheers-Beche-Heidfeld who is 8”5 behind the best time.

Nissans have not yet revealed their potential since the first GT-R LM Nismo, the No. 23 from Mardenborough-Pla-Chilton, was only in 16th place, 21 seconds behind the benchmark. This LMP1 and sister car No. 22 from Krumm-Buncombe-Ticknell encountered electrical problems.

The No. 2 Oak Racing Ligier JS P34 driven by Cumming-Vanthoor leads the LMP2 with a time of 3'41"919, ahead of the LMPXNUMX by a handful of tenths.Alpine A40b from Capillaire-Panciatici-Chatin. But Jacques Nicolet's team must change the engine.

Oliver Gavin set the provisional reference time in GTE Pro with a lap completed in 3'58"162 on the No. 64 Corvette which is almost half a second ahead of the Ferrari n°51 of AF Corse from Vilander-Bruni-Fisichella. Ferrari dominates the GTE Am debates with a quartet led by the #61 AF Corse of Mann-Gianmaria-Cressoni.

The times could still change since the tests were disrupted by the rain which arrived after only two hours of testing. Cars will be able to return to the track from 14 p.m.
