Le Mans – Laurent Aiello returns with the Porsche Carrera Cup

After winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1998 on one Porsche 911 GT1 alongside Stéphane Ortelli and Allan McNish, Laurent Aiello will return to Sarthe to compete in the Porsche Carrera Cup France and British races which will be held as a curtain-raiser to the 82nd edition of the Le Mans event. The 44-year-old Frenchman will be at the wheel of a 911 GT3 Cup entered by the brand which will take on the famous livery of the victorious 911 GT1.

Laurent Aiello will be a serious candidate even if he has been away from the circuits for around ten years. The French driver also distinguished himself in his career by winning the Macau Grand Prix in 1990, winning the title of French Supertourism champion in 1994 with Peugeot , in the German Championship in 1997 and in Great Britain two years later. The former winner of the Sarthe event also won the title in DTM in 2002… with Audi.
