Le Mans – Nissan supports the development of the Ligier JS P2

Nissan formalized this morning that it had entered into a partnership with Onroak Automotive, providing support to the Sarthe manufacturer with regard to the engine. The Japanese firm will also lend a driver, in this case Mark Schulzhitskiy, winner of the Russian GT Academy in 2012. The latter is currently in Portugal, on the Estoril circuit, to carry out tests. Note that the native of Vladivostok has already been seen in the World ChampionshipEndurance, last year in Shanghai, on the Zytek Z11SN-Nissan of Greaves Motorsport.

“When Jacques (Nicolet, President of Onorak Automotive. Editor’s note), asked us to provide support for the development of the new Ligier JS P2, we were delighted to be able to respond positively, underlines Darren Cox, Nismo marketing manager. Oak Racing and Onroak Automotive had a fantastic 2013 season, winning the double in WEC with the Nissan LM P2 engine. » “I am delighted with this partnership now linking Onroak Automotive to Nissan, continues Jacques Nicolet. This is an excellent association for the development work that awaits us regarding our Ligier JS P2. »

The LM P2 tricolor will be filing down the asphalt of the Portuguese Estoril circuit until April 27, with a view to perfecting its development. Unsurprisingly, we should find Mark Schulzhitskiy at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 14-15) on a Ligier JS P2. Certainly at the wheel of the No. 35 fielded directly by Oak Racing and on which the Briton Alex Brundle is already registered.
