Le Mans – Porsche sent the message at Test Day

The brief lulls in the sky allowed Brendon Hartley to sign the reference time of Test Day of the 24 Hours of Le Mans with a time of 3'21"061, or 9 tenths better than the pole achieved in 2014 by the Toyota TS040 Hybrid Kazuki Nakajima.

The rainy weather, however, leaves many uncertainties about the behavior of the slicks on the Sarthe circuit. “The program was limited with these changes in weather”, recognized Andreas Seidl, Team Principal of Porsche. “I am sure that all the teams would have preferred dry weather to evaluate the tires, their management being an essential parameter for the race. »

It was in particular the opportunity to Nico Hulkenberg, driver of the 919 Hybrid n°19, to discover the Le Mans track. “I really enjoyed my first laps at Le Mans. This track is incredible with its long straights. All the turns are harmonious. The section after the Dunlop bridge and the Porsche corners are sensational. But it's difficult to go all out because there are often slower cars.", commented the Force India driver.
