Le Mans – Porsche goes it alone at mid-race

After a more than lively and catastrophic eleventh hour for the clan Toyota, the passage of the halfway point was done at a much less intense pace, since the Porsche 919 Hybrid n°1 currently driven by Nick Tandy is not worried at the head of this 85th edition.

The Briton has a comfortable lead of ten laps over the No. 07 Oreca 31 of Nicolas Cheers, first LM P2 and second overall. Thanks to the last pit stops, Ho-Pin Tung (Oreca 07 n°38 Jackie Chan DC Racing) completes the provisional podium for the race, 18″ behind Prost. Note that the last passage through the pits of the No. 38 was placed under investigation.

Reverse order at Aston Martin

If the Vantage GTEs still dominate the GTE Pro, it is now the No. 95 of Richie Stanaway which has a 2″ lead over the No. 5 driven by Jonny Adam. Ferrari has not yet given up since the 488 n°71 of Alessandro Pier Guidi is 0″5 behind Adam. The category is the most contested, since Miguel Molina (Ferrari no. 51) and Frédéric Makowiecki (Porsche no. 91) are less than a minute behind Stanaway.

No changes in GTE Am, as Dries Vanthoor still leads the category in the #488 JMW Motorsport Ferrari 84, with a comfortable lead over the #90 TF Sport Aston Martin of Hankey and the #911 Porsche 77 RSR of Marvin Dienst, pointed for his part 7″ behind Hankey.
