Le Mans – Rebellion gets lighter for the 24 Hours

Rebellion Racing will look to do well in the 82nd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans where the Swiss team will be present with its two R-Ones which replace the Lola B12/60 Coupé, the n°12 being driven by Nicolas Cheers, Nick Heidfeld and Mathias Beche and the No. 13 shared by Dominik Kraihamer, Andreas Belicchi and Fabio Leimer. After a first official outing at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps which really served as a test session for the double round of the clock in Sarthe, the ACO allowed the LMP1-Ls to gain 40kg on the scale to reach 810kg in agreement with the other teams. No limitation on fuel consumption per lap will be taken into account, the fuel flow during refueling will even be increased by 2% while the tank capacity will be increased to 72l, or 3,7l more.

“Since last weekend’s Test Day there have been small changes to the regulations to help us catch up with the manufacturers’ cars and we hope this will make us more competitive”, comments Bart Hayden, Team Manager of Rebellion Racing. “We are still discovering things with the R-Ones but we have been able to accumulate the necessary running. We are better prepared than when we started at Spa last month but our ambitions remain modest. We will obviously attack as much as possible in the hope of moving to a good position while being ready to take advantage of the slightest difficulty that others may have. Our reliability is not yet fully tested and we expect a difficult test. Despite everything, we are impatient to take part in this new chapter in LMP1 and we intend to put on a good show. »

The Rebellion R-Ones will present themselves at the weigh-in from 14 p.m. The technical and administrative checks can be followed live streaming on this link. Photos are available here.
