Le Mans – Toyota accepts Capillaire’s apology

Following the gesture of Vincent Capillaire and the incomprehension of Kamui Kobayashi during 24 Hours of Le Mans, Toyota avait tenu le pilote Français comme one of those responsible for the abandonment of No. 7 who had burned his clutch after the safety car period.

Vincent Capillaire explained his action and apologized to Toyota Gazoo Racing. Today, the Japanese team accepts his explanations.

« Toyota Gazoo Racing can confirm receipt of an apology from Vincent Capillaire for his actions during the 24 Hours of Le Mans, explains the team in a press release.

« We fully accept his apologies and recognize that this gesture was intended for sporting purposes in no way intended to cause problems for the number 7. We remain on good terms with Vincent and we consider the incident closed.."

Vincent Capillaire received a fine from the ACO for his actions.
