Le Mans – Toyota: “We are better prepared”

“We are very excited for the 24 Hours of Le Mans ». Yoshiaki Kinoshita, president of Toyota Racing, does not hide its enthusiasm and its haste, a few days now from the 90th anniversary of the famous Sarthoise event, which will mark the second participation of their hybrid prototype, this time equipped with the 2013 specification. “Last year at Le Mans was our first participation with the TS030 Hybrid so we expected to encounter some difficulties, explains Kinoshita. This year we are better prepared and we hope to be able to demonstrate it”.

Despite starting the season in the World ChampionshipEndurance (WEC) dominated by Audi, the Japanese brand hopes to capitalize on the experience acquired over the past year to finally win at Le Mans, something it has never done in 15 participations. “Having led Le Mans last year and winning three WEC races gave us a taste for success, adds the Japanese leader. It would be a dream for us to stand on the top step of the podium at the end of such a legendary race. We are up against a very strong opponent in Audi so it is difficult to be confident, but we know that we have done everything in our power to be ready and we will give 100% of our effort to win. A lot can happen and we are prepared for the challenges ahead.”
