Team SARD Morand testing in Aragon

The only team to field Morgans in LM P2 in the World ChampionshipEndurance this year, Team SARD Morand began its program during a competitive test session on the Iberian circuit of Motorland of Aragon. THE two Morgan EVO SARD entrusted this season to Christian Klien – Koki Saga, and Pierre Ragues – Oliver Webb and Tristan Vautier (the latter competing in the first two rounds of Silverstone in Great Britain on April 12, and Spa in Belgium on May 2), covered nearly 4000 km over the four days of driving.

“We had a double objective during these four days, specifies Benoît Morand, director of Morand Racing. On the #39, Christian was in charge of the 2015 Morgan package, which clearly showed us its advantages. We also carried out tire development on the No. 43, and Dunlop was satisfied. On the driver side, the newcomers were impressive, notably Koki Saga, who progressed well day after day and who was very consistent and reliable. Pierre Ragues only drove for two days, because he was engaged in rally (with a podium at the Côte Fleurie and a victory in the R5 category), but he quickly got into the rhythm. »

“During these four days, I got used to these long runs, a specificity of endurance: you must not be too aggressive in order to preserve the tires, especially during double stints. » explains Tristan Vautier.

Team SARD Morand will be entered during the Prologue of WEC, March 27 and 28 at Paul Ricard in the Var.
