The 2025 World Championship seasonEndurance is finally here! After a two-day Prologue organized on Friday and Saturday on the Losail International Circuit, it is still north of Doha that the 36 cars entered for this new exercise have an appointment from Wednesday for the 1812 km of Qatar, the first event of this season.
This is the second year in a row that the Gulf country has hosted the season-opening race, having replaced Sebring in 2024. The Qatari event will be held over three days, with the first two Free Practice sessions on Wednesday. The third will take place on Thursday, before qualifying. The race will start on Friday at 12:00 French time, 14:00 Qatar time.
Last year the race was held on Saturday, but for 2025 the WEC had to adapt to local constraints in this predominantly Muslim region of the world. Indeed, the 2025 “Night of Doubt” – which launches Ramadan, a holy month for Muslims when believers fast – is scheduled for the evening of February 28. Thus, the championship decided to bring forward the date of the 1812 km of Qatar by one day to avoid encroaching on this period.
