The 24H of Le Mans are fast approaching… but before the big meeting of the season in Endurance, you must first go through Belgium and the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (May 9-11), the scene of the third round of the 2025 season of the WECAs usual, the Walloon event will serve as a dress rehearsal before the classic Le Mans, on a track known for its characteristics quite similar to those of the Sarthe circuit.

There are a few crew changes to note for this event, particularly in the Hypercar category. Several drivers entered in IMSA the same weekend, near Laguna Seca in California, will not be present in Belgium, like Matt Campbell and Mathieu Jaminet at PorscheThey will be replaced by Pascal Wehrlein and Nico Müller. Both men will make their debut with the German manufacturer in the Hypercar category in preparation for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where the German will be in the third official 963 and the Swiss will have the role of reserve.

Two absences are also to be noted on the BMW side for the same reasons: Dries Vanthoor and Sheldon van der Linde. The two men will not be replaced for this round and it is therefore duos who will represent the propeller company on the Toboggan des Ardennes. Two other duos will be aligned in the Hypercar category on the side ofAston MartinThis will not be a new development, as it was already the case at the 6 Hours of Imola. It was a duo that won in 2024 with Callum Ilott and Will Stevens in the No. 963 Porsche 12 of the Hertz Team JOTA team.

Esteban Masson, who finished on the podium in the Italian GT3 class, will not be present in Belgium. This time, Japanese driver Yuichu Nakayama will be in the Akkodis ASP Team No. 78 Lexus RC F to replace the injured Ben Barnicoat. It should also be noted that Christian Ried is not in the line-up for the Mercedes-AMG No. 61 of the Iron Lynx team, but no other names have been communicated alongside Lin Hodenius and Maxime Martin.
