The program for Lone Star Le Mans – 6 Hours of COTA 2024

It's not just the Formula 1 which is returning to school at the end of August: the WEC also returns to its rights this weekend with a highly anticipated return to Texas for the Lone Star Le Mans, or the 6 Hours of the Circuit of the Americas (COTA). This is the first time since 2020 that the Texan track has hosted the World Championship.Endurance.

For this sixth round of the 2024 season, two changes should be noted in the entry list. The Hypercar category is relieved of one car, sinceIsotta Fraschini announced his withdrawal until the end of the season. There will therefore only be 18 Hypercars for a total of 36 cars at the start of Lone Star Le Mans. In the LMGT3, we note the return of Ben Keating to the WEC aboard the No. 88 Ford of the Proton Competition team. The American veteran, GTE-Am champion last year, will race at home in Texas.

At the BoP level, it is the Peugeot 9X8 which offers the greatest slimming treatment in the premier category, with fourteen kilos less on the scale. Reverse path for Toyota GR010, victorious in Brazil during the last round to date. It will in fact weigh five kilos more in Austin, reaching a weight of 1065 kilos, which is the highest in the category. The Japanese car is also the hardest hit when it comes to available power up to 250 km/h, as it loses 9 kW, now dropping to 497 kW.
