The World ChampionshipEndurance 2025 is fast approaching. The kick-off of the new season of WEC, whose entry list includes 36 cars (18 Hypercars and 18 GT3s), will be given during the 1812 km of Qatar, on February 28. This is the second year in a row that the Qatari event will open the proceedings.
Before that, the traditional WEC Prologue will be held a few days before the race, that is to say on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 February, also on the Losail circuit in Qatar. Inaugurated in 2004, the 5,419 km track offers rhythmic sequences with sixteen medium and high-speed corners coupled with one of the longest straights of the season (1 metres). Porsche had signed a hat-trick last year with the victory of the n°6 (Kévin Estre, André Lotterer, Laurens Vanthoor) ahead of the n°12 of Hertz Team JOTA (Callum Ilott, Norman Nato, Will Stevens) and the n°5 (Matt Campbell, Michael Christensen, Frédéric Makowiecki).
The 36 crews of the 2025 grid will have two days to fine-tune their settings, adapt to the conditions and the circuit ahead of the opening round in Qatar. Four sessions are scheduled for Friday and Saturday. Unfortunately, the 2025 WEC Prologue will not be broadcast live. You can nevertheless follow all the information, times and results on AUTOhebdo.
