The Automobile Club de l'Ouest has confirmed the return of São Paulo on the WEC calendar for the 2019-2020 Super-Season.

São Paulo's return confirmed for 2019-2020

We announced it to you just a week ago : Brazil will make its return to the World ChampionshipEndurance in 2019-2020. The event contested on the Interlagos track in São Paulo, the last edition of which took place in 2014 (won by Porsche), will be included in the calendar for the next Super-Season.

The exact date on which the South American round of the WEC still needs to be defined. The announcement was made official by Gérard Neveu, general director of the WEC, and the new Brazilian agency which will be the promoter of this event, N Duduch Motorsports, represented by its director Nicholas Duduch.

Bruno Senna, nephew of Ayrton, triple world champion F1, will be the ambassador of the event. “ The confirmation of the return of the WEC to São Paulo is news that we welcome with enthusiasm, indicates Pierre Fillon, president of the ACO.

Brazilian fans have always demonstrated a genuine passion for 24 Hours of Le Mans and endurance races in general. How can we forget the magnificent race that took place during our last visit to Brazil in 2014? We are very happy to return to Interlagos for the 2019-2020 season to share our passion for motorsport with our Brazilian friends. »
