Strakka Racing will only arrive in Brazil

The new Dome S103 LM P2 will have been a long wait in the World Championship.Endurance 2014. After missing the Prologue of WEC at Paul Ricard, the Strakka Racing team announced that it would not take part in the first two rounds of Silverstone and Spa, due to lack of preparation. The return to Le Mans was planned, but an accident during testing at Spa in Belgium had ended hopes of finally seeing the car debut.

So much so that we were wondering when the “Arlesian” of the WEC was finally going to make her first laps in competition. It will finally be in Brazil (November 28 to 30), for the final round of the year, that the Dome will make its return. However, the team will miss the next four rounds in the United States (Austin), Japan, China and Bahrain during this time. “After analyzing the car after the Spa test, DOME wanted to make some revisions to the rear geometry to allow us to have new set-up options that we needed, explains Dan Walmsley, the team manager. To accommodate the revised suspension, the gearbox mounting points and housing had to be redesigned. This schedule has always been very tight and with the need to test these changes and others in anticipation, Brazil is the best option to start racing. »

Concern for preparation led Strakka to postpone his WEC debut, but the machine finally seems to have started. “As a racing team, being on the sidelines for so long is really tough and we know it has been frustrating for our partners and loyal supporters to have seen the car spend more time in the workshop than on the road. Track, adds Walmsley. We are professionals and Strakka will only race the car when it is proven that it has a competitive package. »

Nick Leventis, Jonny Kane and Danny Watts should be lined up on the LM P2 prototype at Interlagos, while Strakka announces that a second chassis is ready to continue testing and welcome drivers who would like to discover the S103.
