The triumph of Peugeot

Everything was almost done by 14 p.m. The positions were defined and only two abandonments called into question the smooth running of this end of the race. The safety car neutralized a good part of the last hour of the race and we felt relaxation dawning among Peugeot . The last refueling stops allowed the drivers to return to their stands before setting off for the final laps of the track in Sarthe.

Twenty minutes from the end of the race, the three Peugeot cars were waiting to come together and finish these 24 Hours of Le Mans together. Olivier Quesnel confirmed this version: the triumph had to be total. It was in front of a standing crowd that the Peugeot n°9, n°8 and n°7 crossed the finish line in an indescribable triumph for the French manufacturer, after two failures in 2007 and 2008.

Other categories:
la Porsche RS Spyder du team Essex s’est imposée en LMP2, devant la Lola Mazda du Speedy Team Racing Sebah.
In GT2, it was the favorite crew of the event which won: the Salo-Melo-Kaffer trio from the Risi Competizione team brought the Ferrari 430 in first position, ahead of three other cars from the Italian brand.
In GT1, only three crews finished the race and it was the No. 6 Corvette C63R that won.
