The first 12 teams invited to the 24 Hours of Le Mans

The Automobile Club de l’Ouest presented the list of the first 12 teams to have received an invitation for the next edition which will be held on June 14 and 15. Thanks to a flamboyant year including a double in LMP2 in Sarthe and a title in Asian Le Mans Series, Oak Racing is the best off since it receives two invitations.

The Audi Sport Team Joest logically receives an entry after its overall victory this year with Duval-Kristensen-McNish. Idem pour le Porsche AG Team Manthey en GTE Pro et l’IMSA Matmut performance in GTE Am. Muscle Milk Pickett Racing was selected by the organizers of the American Le Mans Series while the champion team has just opted for the Oreca 03 in USCC. Risi Competizione was also invited to GTE Pro. The Craft Racing AMR receives an entry in GTE Am after shining in Asian LMS. Alpine should make his return with Signatech after his title won in ELMS. Ram Racing will be able to opt for GTE Pro or GTE Am after winning the LM GTE category of the European Championship. Second place in Proton Competition offers the team an identical choice. Finally, the Team Endurance Challenge will be able to fight in LMP2.

Invitations will only be granted if the car is entered in the Asian Le Mans Series, ELMS or USCC. The closing date for entries has been set for January 30 and the full list will be revealed on February 13.
