The 55 engaged

The list of teams present at the next 24 Hours of Le Mans was unveiled by the ACO today and the big surprise concerns the entry of a 908 HDi by Henri Pescarolo's team. The French champion, who had already declared himself interested in a partnership with Peugeot in the past, will finally be able to count on a V12 turbo diesel to fight at the forefront. For its part, Peugeot will be able to count on the valuable experience of Pescarolo Sport in endurance, something it probably lacked during the last two editions.

To the five Audis in the running, three official R15s and two private R10s assigned to Colin Kolles? team, are added four Peugeots and three Lola-Aston Martin on the other hand. For the occasion, the Charouz team will be formalized as “Aston Martin Eastern Europe”. Pescarolo Sport will also have its own Judd-powered prototype as a second car.

Still in LMP1, we find the Ginetta-Zytek from Team LNT and that from Strakka Racing, but also a Creation, an Epsilon-Euskadi, and the Courage Epsilon from Signature Plus. Finally, the two Courage-Oreca entered by Hugues De Chaunac will therefore have a hard time facing ever fiercer competition, but we will undoubtedly find them in ambush?

On the LMP2 side we will be able to see 3 Porsche RS Spyder, scattered among the Vitaphone, Essex and Goh teams, while RML, KSM and Oak Racing will defend the colors of Mazda. Racing Box and the Speedy Racing Team will have a Lola-Judd. The other participants are ASM and its Ginetta-Zytek, the unpronounceable Bruichladdich Bruneau and its Radical, and finally the Gstaad Auto Club of Karim Ojjeh and their Zytek 07S.

Note that among the reserves, we find the Epsilon Barazi team which had entered two cars in previous editions. Gerard Welter's original boat with a Zytek engine also failed to obtain a place in the official entry list.

In GT1 there are four Corvettes that will fight against the Lamborghini Murcielago and other Aston Martin DBR9s, two official and two from Luc Alphand Aventures. The Saleen S7-R from the French team Larbre Compétition is out of the race for the moment.

An impressive number of Ferrari F430 GT has entered the ranks of GT2, since there will be no less than nine in total to block the path of the three Porsche 911 RSRs entered by IMSA, Felbermayr and Flying Lizard. An Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT2 and a Spyker C8 Laviolette complete the list.
