The return of WEC in Uncle Sam's Land is coming! On September 1st, the world championship ofEndurance will return to the United States with the Lone Star round Le Mans, contested in Texas on the Circuit of the Americas (COTA). Two weeks before the first tests in Austin, the entry list for the American event has been revealed. We will logically find the 37 cars registered for the year for the championship, with 19 Hypercars and 18 LMGT3s.
In the Hypercars, no surprises or changes compared to the 6H of São Paulo. All drivers present in Brazil will return to the United States. As expected, Cadillac will once again trust a duo, composed of Alex Lynn and Earl Bamber. Both Peugeot and both Alpine obviously retain their crews.
On the LMGT3 side, we note the return of Ben Keating in the GT category. The 52-year-old American (53 on August 18) will drive the No. 88 Ford Proton Competition alongside Mikkel Pedersen and Dennis Olsen, in place of Giorgio Roda. The Texan veteran will drive at home, having won the GTE Am championship title last year with Corvette. For the rest of the field, no change: Lexus will once again place its trust in Clemens Schmid on the No. 78, following the departure of Timur Boguslavskiy from the Akkodis ASP team.
