While Hypercars will make their debut in WEC from the 2020-2021 season, the FIA confirmed in its last World Council which was held this Thursday in Paris that the future stars of the 24 Hours of Le Mans should be approved under the name of manufacturers, subject to validation by the Commission Endurance.

This decision follows in particular the announcement of the partnership between Peugeot and Rebellion for the future Sochaux Hypercar which will be introduced in 2022.

Testing will not be limited during the first year of homologation of a new Le Mans Hypercar. Limitations will occur during the second year of approval.
