LM P1 and GTE Pro winners plus automatically invited in 2021

Win the 24 Hours of Le Mans next year in LM P1 and GTE Pro will no longer automatically award an invitation to the winning car for the following edition.

The Automobile Club de l’Ouest confirmed this modification to the sporting regulations on Tuesday, leaving only invitations for the winners in LM P2 and GTE Am.

This announcement follows previous changes to the invitations awarded by the various ACO-labeled series around the world. In ELMS, the density of the grid will condition the number of invitations granted in LM P2 and GTE, while an invitation will always be awarded in LM P3.

In the Asian Le Mans Series, the same process will be applied in LM P2 and GT3, with LM P3 retaining an invitation. The invitations going to the winner of the Michelin Le Mans Cup like those awarded in IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship remain unchanged.
