The first Ginetta LM P1s sold

Since the first announcements regarding 2018 made a little over a month ago in Mexico, various private teams have expressed their interest in LM P1. And one of them has already placed an order for three Ginettas, a car whose name has not yet been revealed.

« This is a big step forward for our program and very good news for the WEC and the ACO, who have placed a lot of hope in their new LM P1 regulations, underlines Lawrence Tomlinson, president of Ginetta Cars. For the moment, you will have to wait for our client to communicate about their program. Certain signs make us think that it will soon be joined by others. »

The Ginetta LM P1, which will be powered by a Mecachrome V6 developing between 750 and 800 hp, was designed by a team of renowned engineers, under the leadership of Ewan Baldry, who serves as technical director. Within it, we find in particular Adrian Reynard, Paolo Catone and Andy Lewis, without forgetting the contribution of renowned companies such as Williams Advanced Engineering.

Of the ten chassis planned, six therefore remain available, one of them being requisitioned for development. The first is currently under construction, with the first tours scheduled for November.
