Safety Cars shake up the rankings at mid-race

The halfway mark of 24 Hours of Le Mans 2019 (Sarthe) coincides with a significant clarification in most categories. The cause was the arrival of several Safety Cars due to Marco Sorensen's violent exit from the track (Aston Martin) in Indianapolis shortly after midnight.

While the Dane escaped unscathed, the race for LM P2, GTE Pro and GTE Am was completely modified due to the neutralization. Thus, the Aurus 01 of G-Drive Racing was two minutes ahead of theAlpine by Signatech Alpine because a safety car was inserted between the two prototypes!

Même punition en GTE Pro, où seuls la Porsche n°92 and the Ferrari n°51 were separated from the rest of the peloton, which lost more than a minute and a half in the process. Finally, the Keating Motorsport Ford GT gained two minutes at the head of the race for free.

This benefits Rebellion, which finally regains a place on the provisional podium, with the No. 3 in third place, more than two laps behind the Japanese leaders.
