As announced several weeks ago by AUTOhebdo, Lilou Wadoux will race in the LMGTE Am category of the WEC in 2023. Unsurprisingly, the Frenchwoman will thus evolve in the Ferrari 488 GTE Evo no. 83 from AF Corse, whose title sponsor will be Richard Mille, the brand it already represented in 2022 in LM P2. The Amiénoise had also tested the GT of the Prancing Horse during the last Rookie Test of the WEC, in addition to her morning trip in the Hypercar of Toyota. She will be notably accompanied by the Argentinian Luis Perez Companc, classified Bronze. The crew could be completed by another female pilot.

Above all, the Frenchwoman is promoted to official Competizione GT driver of the Prancing Horse. Lilou's appointment as an official Ferrari Competizioni GT driver underlines the importance that the Prancing Horse manufacturer has long placed on the role of women in motorsport. This is also reflected in the partnership between the Ferrari Driver Academy and the “FIA Girls on Track – Rising Stars” program, created by the Women in Motorsport Commission of the International Automobile Federation (FIA).

« I am delighted and incredibly proud to join the Ferrari family, declares Lilou Wadoux. Becoming an official pilot is a dream come true and involves great responsibilities. However, hard work always pays off, and I will do my best to return the favor to the people who believed in me from the beginning. This new position is an important step in my young career, but I am ready to give my best and represent one of the most famous brands in the world. »

A huge opportunity for Lilou Wadoux, since this status opens up the possibility of driving a Ferrari Hypercar in 2024. Last November, the Northerner had already become the first woman at the wheel of an LMH during the WEC Rookie Test with Toyota.
