The Rookie Test WEC, played the day after the final of the world championship in Bahrain (November 12. Editor's note), will put the young French women in the spotlight. Lilou Wadoux and Dorian Pin were both selected, respectively in Hypercar and LM P2.

Lilou Wadoux will be the first Frenchwoman to drive a Hypercar on this occasion and the first in the top category of theEndurance since Vanina Ickx in 2011. This year she is participating in the full season in LM P2 with the Richard Mille Racing Team. In Sakhir, she will have the opportunity to ride on the Toyota GR010 Hybrid or on theAlpine A480 – Gibson, depending on which car ends up champion.

“I am very happy to have been selected, declares Lilou Wadoux. Just a year ago, I took part in the Bahrain Rookie Test in LM P2 with Richard Mille, while I was racing in Alpine Elf Europa Cup. It was a big step in my career, because I suddenly found myself behind the wheel of a prototype.

I learned a lot and now I have a new opportunity with a new test, but this time behind the wheel of a Hypercar. It's a dream come true and I'm delighted. On a personal level, I am proud to show that women can reach the highest level of motorsport. I hope my example will inspire young girls to follow this path. »

Doriane Pin with the LM P2 champion car

Doriane Pin, who discovered the WEC this season during the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps in the GTE Am category with the Iron Dames, will ride in the Oreca 07 – Gibson which will be crowned champion at the end of the season. This year, the 18-year-old dominates the Trofeo Pirelli in Ferrari Challenge and will also compete in the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps in ELMS, next weekend. She also has her category at the 24 Hours of Spa alongside Sarah Bovy, Michelle Gatting and Rahel Frey.

“It's been a great season for me so far and I'm very excited to try a car I've never driven before, says Doriane Pin. It's really important to show young women like me that they can have a career in motorsport, and that if you have a dream and are willing to work hard, your dreams can come true. The LM P2 car is a completely different beast from the GT cars I have driven so far! And it is vital for young talents to gain as much experience of different types of racing cars. I am very grateful to WEC and would like to thank them for this opportunity! »

The other drivers selected are Lorenzo Colombo and Finn Gehrsitz. The 21-year-old Italian already knows the WEC, competing in LM P2 this season with Prema. He will compete in the champion GTE Pro. The 17-year-old from Stuttgart, the youngest driver to compete in Michelin Le Mans Cup this season, will be at the wheel of the GTE Am champion.

All four drivers will be allowed a minimum of 30 laps during the test, with teams able to race other drivers during the five hours of action on the circuit.

The full list of participants for the official Rookie Test on Sunday, November 13 will be published at a later date.
