Loeb: “I am not a robot”

Given the number of journalists specializing in rally present at Peugeot yesterday for the announcement of their 2010 program, many expected to see Sébastien Loeb compete for your third 24 Hours of Le Mans next June. Unfortunately the six-time world champion WRC will not be present in Sarthe. They give us their reasons on their website.

“I ended up realizing that I no longer had time to go home. After a while, should it become a constraint and no longer a pleasure? And pleasure, that was it at the start. That's why I asked to ride in the 908. But if it becomes too heavy to go to C4 tests, DS 3 tests, 908 tests, that's not the goal. You have to make the right decision, even if you would like to do everything. Just the next five weeks, I would have been testing everywhere, right and left, in a rally, on a circuit, for 2 days at home, with my daughter, my wife, my friends. I'm not a robot, I'm like everyone else, I need time for myself and for mine. And here, I'm only talking about the next few weeks, but afterward, it was the same. If I want to do things correctly, I don't have to do them all at once.

In fact, the decision was made on something trivial. We had to move a test session with the C4 WRC. We look at my diary, we realize that it's a hassle to organize but finally we find a day. It was the only free day I had left to spend at home between the Peugeot tests and Mexico! There I said to myself that it was really too much. “
