Luc Alphand seriously injured

As we previously announced, Luc Alphand suffered a serious back injury following a bad landing during a motorcycle jump. Passionate about sport, he took part this weekend in the Enduro Rand-Auvergne, in the Ambert region, south-east of Clermont-Ferrand. Following this fall, the native of Briançon complained about his back. He is scheduled to have surgery this Monday. “ According to his wife, it would be quite serious, his agents told AFP. He was hit in the spine. A priori, he would have sensitivity in his legs. »

Despite everything, whoever participates in 24 Hours of Le Mans and at the Dakar (victory in 2006) underwent examinations which revealed three affected vertebrae, two of which were fractured. At 43, Luc Alphand must therefore be operated on to benefit from a bone graft, during an operation which should last 4 to 5 hours. However, he is out of danger neurologically and maintains his morale intact despite this serious injury, confirmed Philippe Poincloux, manager of the Luc Alphand Aventures team. His team also specified that his physical form had certainly prevented him from further damage.
