Lucas Auer will compete in his first race in Endurance by integrating the plateau of WEC during the final of the 6 Hours of Bahrain contested on November 30. The 19-year-old Austrian will drive the Lotus LMP2 T128 after distinguishing himself in car notably finishing vice-champion of the ATS Formel 3 Cup last year. With Prema Powerteam, he also stood out by finishing in fourth position in the F3 European Championship “Endurance racing will be something completely new for me as I have only done sprint races so far. It will also be a first for me to drive a car with a roof, as well as having to share the car with teammates”, comments the new WEC rookie.
However, Lucas Auer is not looking for a career change since his priority remains single-seaters, as his presence at the Macau Grand Prix proves. “I think it’s a good thing for a driver to have new experiences. However, that doesn't mean I'm going to abandon single-seaters. I plan to compete in the F3 European Championship again next year, but I am already happy to be at the 6 Hours of Bahrain with Lotus. »
