Lucas di Grassi convinced Audi

Lucas di Grassi joins the squad of Audi LMP1 drivers for 2013. After a first WEC test at home in Interlagos, last September, the 28-year-old Brazilian is now part of the team full-time. Indeed, for its first appearance in the World ChampionshipEndurance, the former pilot of Formula 1, then teamed with Tom Kristensen and Allan McNish, finished in third place. A convincing performance which ultimately convinced Audi to hire him. The news was announced among the flood of announcements made, Wednesday December 19, by Audi Motorsport during its end-of-year meeting in Ingolstadt. He will replace the Italian Marco Bonanomi, released by the brand with the four rings.

The former Virgin Racing driver declared himself very happy with his new role, and took the opportunity to address the way transfers take place in F1. “Audi offered me a dream contract, better than anything I've ever had in Formula 1, so I'm really happy”, announced the Brazilian. “I got this job solely because of my performance. There was no commercial mess like in F1. »
