Luigi Cimarosti died last week at the age of 89. The preparer from Comblain-au-Pont, known in particular for having developed the BMW 3.0 CSL, had notably won a category victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1977 with Pierre Deudonné, Spartaco Dini and Jean Xhenceval as well as the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps the following year.
If his reputation was made mainly with propeller mounts, Louigi Cimarosti also prepared Ford Sierras and Dodge Vipers as well as Alfa Romeo GTV6 and Chevrolet Camaros.
CARhebdo extends its sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.
