Mailleux: Signatech must keep the advantage

After competing last week in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring with Volkswagen, Franck Mailleux will reunite with Soheil Ayari and Lucas Ordonnez for the 6 Hours of Imola which he will contest with Signatech-Nissan. The crew of the No. 03 Oreca 26 finished second in the LMP2 category at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and took the lead in the category.

Franck Mailleux and his teammates will try to maintain the lead in the ILMC LMP2 Championship. “I am very happy to go to Imola for the first time, and to find the ILMC with Signatech-Nissan. We showed our competitiveness at Le Mans, we overcame difficulties to get on the podium in our category, and it was a fantastic moment for the whole team. By scoring double the points at Le Mans – 24 Hour race – we take the lead in the ILMC LMP2 championship. We want to keep it! »

After having competed in two 24 Hour races in a few weeks, Franck Mailleux expects a more conventional race, even if the fight for the first places will remain intense. “Imola will be a completely different challenge, but I am confident: with Signatech, the Nissan engine and the Dunlop tires we will be competitive. This race will seem almost “normal” to us after these 24 Hour events, and the preparation they require. We will not let up, however. We will face the competitors from ILMC and LMS this weekend, we want to fight for the podium again. »
