In order to claim a victory in the GTE Pro class at 24 Hours of Le Mans 2021 (August 21-22), Porsche has chosen two experienced drivers to strengthen the crews entered year-round in the World Endurance Championship (WEC), during the Sarthe event but also the 8 Hours of Portimao (Portugal, June 12-13).

On the 911 RSR bearing the number 91, we will find the French Frédéric Makowiecki associated for the fourth year in a row with Richard Lietz and Gianmaria Bruni. “It’s great to share the wheel with Gimmi and Richie again in 2021, enthuses the native of Arras (Pas-de-Calais). We are a very well-oiled trio. Unfortunately, it was never quite enough to win our class at Le Mans. (twice 2nd, in 2018 and 2019. Editor’s note), but that should change this year.
We will approach the WEC race in Portugal with the aim of refining the interaction with our new race engineer John McGregor. There won't be much time to work on certain aspects during Le Mans week, so we will do it in Portimão. »
Danish Michael Christensen will reinforce the #92 car with Neel Jani and Kevin Estre. The latter experienced the joy of victory in 2018 with the famous Porsche with the “Pink Pig” livery » with Michael Christensen. “I feel particularly lucky to be able to drive for Porsche at Le Mans this year. It’s the biggest, toughest and most important race on the calendar every year and, if we succeed, the most wonderful. I hope we do as well as we did in 2018.
