Manor arrives in LM P1 with Ginetta

During a press conference organized in China, ahead of the 6 Hours of Shanghai, Manor TRS Racing formalized its entry into LM P1 next year, confirming what sporting director Graeme Lowdon had implied. in AUTOhebdo in the middle of September (see Ah n°2132). “ We are still very interested in the LM P1, he told us. We want to increase the role played by our team in engineering and design, as we did in F1, because we miss it. » Unsurprisingly, his sights fell on the Ginetta LM P1, which will be powered by Mécachrome. It could even be that Manor will be entrusted with the development of the car.

« We are delighted to arrive in LM P1, underlines John Booth, the team principal. We have discovered this championship over the last two seasons and are confident that this is the right time to move into LM P1. We have known the people at Ginetta for several years and we believe that by working together it will be possible to develop a competitive LM P1. »

« I think the LM P1 is a magnificent challenge, continues Lowdon. We will be able to draw on the experience acquired over the years, particularly in F1, in particular for everything relating to management, design, research, testing and development which are so important to success in LM P1. »

Boss of Ginetta Cars, Lawrence Tomlinson says “ delighted that it is finally confirmed that TRS Racing and Manor Endurance Racing have opted for Ginetta. »
