Mark Webber remained in hospital

The Australian Mark Webber, pilot of the Porsche 919 Hybrid n°20, was the victim of a violent exit from the track last night in Interlagos. The 38-year-old driver lost control of his car (the reasons for which have not yet been established) and violently hit the protective wall, taking with him the Ferrari 458 Italia n°90 of Matteo Cressoni just before the start of the pit straight. The 919 Hybrid was destroyed, and Webber was taken care of by the medical teams, before giving a reassuring wave of his arm just before being initially transferred to the Medical Center of the Brazilian track.

The old pilot F1 was “conscious and alert” as the FIA ​​quickly announced, but as a precaution, Mark Webber spent the night in a hospital in São Paolo to undergo additional examinations. A message posted on Facebook page of the Australian wanted to reassure, indicating that “his state of health was satisfactory”. Timo Bernhard and Brendon Hartley were able to see their teammate. Cressoni emerged unscathed from this accident, also indicating on social networks that he spent the night in hospital.
